Simple Possession Act 2 (pt 3)

The bulbous slimy Hutt hovered toward us on his pillow covered throne. I was scared. Knosh seemed like he was about to wet himself. While not as apparent, the others were probably just as scared as the rest of us. Teemo said something in Huttese, but since none of us understood, we just stood there. He uttered a few louder and maybe angrier words toward the protocol droid. The protocol droid snapped
to attention and apologized for not translating.

The protocol droid stepped up and stated that Teemo wanted to know how we procured the pelts. Knosh, sort of pushed Simms forward and said something like, "Let our leader tell you." All eyes were on Simms but Simms was silent. He clamored for words for a few minutes while Teemo waited, rather impatiently. He eventually burped up the words Wookie pelts, Trandoshan, or something. Realizing that he didn't know what to say, he tried to pass the gauntlet to Skleet to explain what happened.

Skleet attempted, but also seemed to be at a loss for words, although he was more vocal than Simms. He mentioned the crashed space station, the ship, and being unable to find the pilot. Then upon looking in the ship we found the pelts.

Teemo, through the protocol droid, asked to see the pelts and inquired about our asking price. Once money was mentioned Knosh quickly stepped up to discuss terms. Teemo was gracious to receive the pelts at a discounted rate, but at the same time was a little more concerned about the Krayt Fang. According to Teemo it was his ship, and he was simply loaning it out to the Mighty Trex. Whose Trex, I wondered, and then it hit me, the Trandoshan whose ship we stole.

We thanked Teemo for not getting too upset with (or killing) us about stealing the ship. We discussed the matter for a bit and while inconvenienced, he saw potential in us and "convinced" us to work as a replacement of Trex. While I will not participate in any Wookie skinning, I feel like doing odd jobs for Teemo may prove to be lucrative. Teemo bids us a good day and retreats through a door deeper into his palace. The protocol droid ushers us from this "throne room" into the hallway.

GM NOTE: Our Wookie player has finally shown up for a session. So I had to find a cool way for him to enter the scene while maintaining the story. It wasn't really that hard seeing as how our good friend Teemo likes collecting Wookie pelts.

As we were heading down the hallway, toward the exit, a few of us hear screams coming from a side hallway. Tabo, Skleet and I investigate. The protocol droid starts yelling, about how this is against the rules, Master Teemo will be upset, and we were supposed to leave the complex. The side hallway ended at a room, behind the room more screams of terror and pain emerged. I could tell right away that these were the screams of a Wookie. If this is a wookie in trouble, I may be able to atone for the ones I could not save from Teemo.

We broke into the room and, as expected, a large, brown and grey Wookie stood shackled to a wall. An interrogation droid had already begun flaying the Wookie and peeling fur away from his wrist. Tabo shocked the interrogator droid and it fell to the ground.

Skleet...Oh Skleet... The argument that ensued between Skleet and me about this Wookie prisoner is was too unbearable to repeat. I knew from my last attempt that physically attacking Skleet would end up badly so we just argued. About this time, the protocol droid runs back to Teemo's chamber and attempts to warn Teemo. Knosh follows him, there's some kind of scuffle and then a blaster bolt comes flying down the hallway. I hear Knosh yell something about being attacked and he runs toward the entrance escaping to the hot midday suns.

GM NOTE: You would think we are playing Vampire the Masquerade with all the back handed double talking, and inter player conflict is going on in this game. I've got characters wanting to kill other characters, sneak around creating subversive subplots, and just bitter animosity between them. All of which I welcome with open arms as the roleplaying is topnotch and when they come through all this adversity, they will grow to love one another....Well maybe not the Trandoshan and Wookie!

Skleet and I argue for another minute or so and decide we should escape the palace also, but first, Skleet stuns the wookie into unconscious. While we're arguing, Tabo retrieves the hover lift we were carrying the pelts on. We load the Wookie on to the hover lift and head outside.

When we get outside, we are confronted by six Storm Troopers aiming their carbines at our heads.
The sergeant tells us we are to do to the cantina and await further instructions. We go, and they follow. Tabo asks if he can take the Wookie to the ship, two Storm Troopers break off and follow him.

Inside the cantina, Knosh is having a private conversation with the Imperial Lieutenant, guarded by Storm Troopers of course. Simms, Skleet, and I are in a booth across the room from them. While waiting Simms decides to pull out the metallic orb from his pocket and start fiddling with it. All of a sudden, we hear a click, then Simms say, "I think I have it." Just then, tiny shimmering balls of light exit the ball and start swirling around the orb. In an instant the balls of light connect at a center point and then erupt into a billion tiny stars that fill the entire cantina.

As if we didn't have enough concerns, everyone in the room just gawks at what just happened. Due to the unwanted attention all of this is getting, I try to grab the orb and conceal it but just before I grab it, a female patron of the cantina points out that she is near Tatooine. She reaches out and touches the tiny ball of light in front of her. When she does, a small red line traces from her "Tatooine" to another planet then another until about 10 or so planets are in this illuminated red path. Before the line touches what I believe is the final planet, the map dissipates. I cover the orb and put it in my jacket.

After the commotion of the map calms down, the Storm Troopers allow us to leave and we head back to the ship. Knosh stays behind because he is to meet the Rodian contact about the "errand" we are supposed to run for Teemo.

The commotion that happened when everyone was back on the ship was ridiculous. Skleet wanted to eat the Wookie, Yurra. The Wookie wanted to kill the Trandoshan. Knosh wanted to hand B'uran over to Teemo (for a bounty) I thought we should uphold our arrangement of helping B'uran. Tabo doesn't care and then checks the HRMI to see if it's still operational and Simms... I don't know what Simms was doing. Eventually things calm down and everyone separates. We decide the Wookie is a better pilot than the disgruntled Skleet., B'uran is on board till we get to our next destination. Knosh is probably counting credits, preparing his next score and I am at peace because I rescued a Wookie.

GM NOTE: This concluded Act 2. While we continued to play and begin Act 3. The characters rested spent XP and then onto a modified version of "Trouble Brewing" the adventure in the back of the Core Rulebook. I had also decided that, if an act lasts more than one session, I am goign to wait to hand out xp until the Act is over. I also will wait to roll Obligation and Destiny pool until we move to the new act. I know this deviates from doing it at the beginning of each session as in the Core Rulebook, but it just makes more sense to me and my group to do it between acts. Coming tomorrow Act 3 part 1 (or 2)...
